The news: Meta unveiled its next-gen smart glasses, Aria Gen 2, but unlike the Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses, the new wearable is designed for research, not retail.

  • Aria Gen 2 features head, eye, and hand tracking; speech recognition; open-air speakers; and nosepad sensors that can measure heart rate and distinguish the user’s voice from others’.
  • On-device processing is powered by Meta’s custom hardware.
